DeAnna moved to New Zealand and joined the team at Humanimals in September 2025.

She is originally from the United States, where she lived in several different regions, embracing the weather extremes. She received her Bachelor of Veterinary Science (2006) and Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (2009) degrees from the University of Minnesota.

She enjoys all aspects of veterinary medicine, but particularly emergency medicine and soft tissue surgery. When not helping animals, DeAnna enjoys exploring the beaches and mountains with her best friend, Rupert the Vizsla. She also enjoys astronomy/astrophotography and catching local concerts and plays.
